General Government Committee

That the Minutes of the 2022 Operating Budget meeting of the General Government Committee held on February 14, 2022 be adopted.

That the Minutes of the regular meeting of the General Government Committee held on February 22, 2022 be adopted.

That the Minutes of the Closed Session of the General Government Committee held on February 22, 2022 be adopted.

That items 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 and 4.9 of the consent agenda be adopted.

1. That Council receive the report entitled “Grants and Partnerships Update” for information. 2. That Council approve a donation of $25,500 to the Ajax-Pickering Hospital Foundation for the purchase of bassinets and automatic external defibrillators from the slots revenue allocation set aside for corporate giving in 2022.

That the attached 2020 Council Remuneration By-Law be brought forward to the March 28, 2022 Council Meeting for approval.

That the 2021 Statement of Remuneration and Expenses for Members of Council and Council Appointees be received for information. General Government Committee March 21, 2022

1. That the CAO is hereby delegated authority to take action to make any expenditures or incur any liability in excess of $100,000 that are deemed necessary for the continuity of the Town’s operations or to advance a priority initiative, and are not included in the Town’s approved 2022 Budgets; 2. That the above authority may only be exercised in the event that section 275 of the Municipal Act restricts the actions of Ajax Council during the period from August 19, 2022 to November 21, 2022; and 3. That in the first quarter in 2023, the CAO shall report to Council any exercise of this delegated authority.

1. That the report titled ‘2022 Municipal & School Board Elections – Update ’ be received for information; and 2. That the draft Alternate Languages By-law for the 2022 Ajax Municipal Election (ATT- 2) be presented at the March 28, 2022 Council meeting for approval.

That Council, Standing Committees, and all advisory committees and quasi-judicial boards of the Town of Ajax continue to meet in a virtual format for the remainder of this term of Council.

That the report entitled “Corporate Information Technology Strategic Plan – Year Two Update” be received for information.

1. That the 2021 Year End Building Permit Activity and 2022 Projection Report be received for information.

1. That the report entitled “2021 #GetAjaxMoving – Transportation Awareness Campaign Update” be received for information.

That Council receive the report entitled “Age-Friendly Ajax Community Plan – Year 1 Update”, dated March 21, 2022, for information. General Government Committee March 21, 2022

That Council convene to a Closed Session pursuant to Section 239 (2) (b) of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, to discuss personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.

That Ajax Council nominate Muaz Nasir for appointment to the Durham Environmental Advisory Committee (DEAC).

That the March 21, 2022 meeting of the General Government Committee be adjourned.
